Don’t Make A Human Do A Robot’s Job! How AI is Revolutionising the Future of Work with FESSBeC.

By leveraging AI, we are not only transforming the way we work but also ensuring a bright future for job seekers and professionals alike. One of the most exciting aspects of AI’s impact is encapsulated in the concept I call FESSBeC — an acronym I created that highlights how AI is transforming the way we work.

Understanding FESSBeC. 

FESSBeC stands for Faster, Easier, Smarter, Simpler, Better, and Cheaper. These six elements capture the essence of AI’s potential to revolutionise the future of work. By embracing FESSBeC, businesses and individuals can unlock new levels of productivity, creativity, and efficiency.

Faster. 

AI drastically reduces the time needed to complete tasks, allowing us to accomplish more in less time. This acceleration of work processes is particularly evident in areas like data analysis and customer service. AI algorithms can quickly sift through vast amounts of data to provide insights that would take humans much longer to uncover. In customer service, AI-powered chatbots handle routine inquiries swiftly, providing immediate responses and freeing up human agents to tackle more complex issues.

Easier. 

AI makes work easier by automating repetitive and mundane tasks. This automation frees up valuable time for employees to focus on more complex and creative activities. For example, AI can handle data entry, scheduling, and basic troubleshooting, allowing humans to engage in higher-level problem-solving and strategic planning. The result is a more efficient and satisfied workforce, with employees able to contribute their unique skills and expertise to tasks that truly require human intervention.

Smarter.

Simpler.

For instance, Generative AI tools like ChatGPT allow users to generate high-quality content with simple prompts, democratising content creation and reducing the need for specialised skills.

Better. 

AI improves the quality of work by delivering consistent and accurate outputs. In fields such as manufacturing, AI-powered robots perform tasks with precision and reliability, reducing errors and enhancing product quality. In the creative industries, AI tools assist in generating innovative designs and artworks, pushing the boundaries of human creativity. By augmenting human capabilities, AI helps us achieve better results in various domains.

Cheaper. 

AI reduces operational costs by optimizing processes and increasing efficiency. Businesses can save money by automating tasks that would otherwise require significant human resources. For example, AI-driven predictive maintenance in manufacturing prevents costly downtime by identifying potential issues before they become critical. For instance, a chatbot trained on examples of text chats can learn to produce lifelike exchanges with people, while an image recognition tool can identify and describe objects in images by reviewing millions of examples.
