The Pure Digital Passion LinkedIn Newsletter Just Clocked 25,000+ Subscribers & What The Data Says Is Working
This past weekend, my LinkedIn Newsletter, Pure Digital Passion, crossed a milestone I have been quietly working towards for some time.
We passed 25,000 subscribers.
As at today, 2nd February 2026, the newsletter stands at 25,047 subscribers.
On the surface, this may look like just another growth announcement. But for me, this milestone matters for one very specific reason:
Pure Digital Passion has grown organically since inception.
No paid distribution.
No follower acquisition campaigns.
No sponsored growth.
Just consistent publishing, relevant content and an audience that keeps choosing to come back.
What The Data Behind The Growth Actually Shows
When I look at the LinkedIn Newsletter analytics for the past 365 days, a few signals stand out very clearly.
Over that period:
- The newsletter recorded 338,535 article views, representing a 19.1% year-on-year increase.
- It generated 6,404 engagements, a remarkable 880.8% increase.
- It added 8,040 new subscribers, growing by 23.8% over the same period.
Even more telling is what has happened very recently.
In just the past 7 days alone, Pure Digital Passion added 293 new subscribers — a 324.7% increase compared to the previous period.
This is not random.
It is the result of compounding visibility, trust and relevance built over time.

Who Is Actually Reading Pure Digital Passion?
Another important insight comes from the subscriber demographics.
Among the most common job titles of subscribers are:
- Founders
- Chief Executive Officers
- Co-founders
- Managing Directors
- Commercial and sales leaders
This confirms something I have always suspected from the conversations and messages I receive after each edition.
The newsletter is not just being consumed passively.
It is being read by decision-makers, business builders and leaders who are actively navigating digital transformation, growth and innovation in their organizations.
That is exactly the audience I set out to serve.

What Has Really Driven This growth?
In my experience, three things have mattered far more than any platform feature or publishing trick.
1. Consistency Beats Intensity
Pure Digital Passion has now published 394 editions.
Showing up regularly has trained both the audience — and the LinkedIn algorithm — to expect and recognize the newsletter as a dependable source of insight.
Consistency compounds.
2. Inform. Educate. Entertain.
From the very beginning, I made a deliberate decision that this would not be a press-release-style newsletter. Therefore, the content focuses on:
- technology,
- media,
- marketing,
- and the business of digital transformation
Always through a practical and contextual Kenyan and Pan-African lens, grounded in what is actually happening across the continent.
But just as importantly, the content is written to be:
- informative,
- educational,
- and genuinely engaging to read.
People do not return to newsletters simply because they are “useful”. They return because the content respects their time and attention.
3. Contextual Relevant Matters — Especially In Kenya & Africa
One of the biggest gaps I continue to see in digital and technology commentary is the lack of contextual relevance for Kenyan and African markets.
Many global narratives do not translate cleanly into our realities.
Pure Digital Passion deliberately interprets technology, media and marketing trends through:
- Kenyan and African market dynamics,
- regional business environments,
- regulatory realities,
- infrastructure constraints,
- and local consumer behaviour.
That contextual grounding has been one of the strongest drivers of sustained readership.
Organic reach on LinkedIn still works — if you earn it
These results also reinforce something I have consistently experienced across my broader LinkedIn presence.
When you create content that is:
- relevant,
- consistent,
- and genuinely useful
LinkedIn continues to reward it with meaningful organic distribution.
The 338,535 article views and 6,404 engagements over the past year are a direct reflection of that.
Not growth hacks.
Not paid reach.
Just earned attention.
