screen-shot-2016-11-13-at-15-59-34I just heard from a team member at Brave Venture Labs (Brave) that they will be holding their inaugural Brave Data Festival this week on the 17th and 18th November 2016.

One thing I know about the folks over at Brave is that they LOVE all things data so this first of kind event in Kenya is essentially a celebration of data science within a local context. Brave itself is a network science lab that aims to uncover secrets of of human performance to help people get better jobs and companies build better teams which is as ambitious as it sounds.

Attending the Brave Data Festival will give you the opportunity to join data scientists, researchers, businesses, and government leaders across Nairobi to discuss the biggest data challenges and the latest breakthroughs in data science. Indeed, data science has become mission critical for all kinds of scenarios and is driving disruptive change globally across a myriad of contexts.

The Brave Data Festival will happen over 2 days in 5 venues featuring 15 speakers and 100 builders. Sessions will include a skills factory, industry spotlights, data jam, career showcase, networking meetups and expert speakers. Confirmed speakers include Vivienne Ming from Socos, Leonida Mutuku from Intelipro & PesaCheck, Professor Bitange Ndemo from University of Nairobi and Kamal Budhabhatti from Craft Silicon.
