APA Insurance Launches Mwezi Kwa Mwezi, Its Online Motor Insurance Premium Financing Platform

APA Insurance today launched Mwezi kwa Mwezi, an online premium financing platform that enables motor vehicle insurance policy holders to pay for their annual premiums in up to six monthly payments. Aptly named, Mwezi kwa Mwezi means ‘month to month’ in kiswahili. Mwezi kwa Mwezi was developed in conjunction with Swahiba Insurance Agency and is meant to make paying for motor vehicle insurance easy, affordable and convenient.
Under normal circumstances, a whole year’s premium for motor vehicle insurance is paid in one lump sum. What the Mwezi kwa Mwezi offering does is provide flexibility by breaking down payments into three or six monthly payments. However, the interesting twist is that registration and payments are all handled online for customer convenience and practicality.
In order to sign-up for Mwezi kwa Mwezi, all that is required is for customers to submit their personal details and those of their vehicle registration, logbook and valuation certificate online, as well as providing details where they would like the motor policy to be delivered. Customers are also required to pay a one-off fee of 1.5% per cent of the annual motor insurance premium.
Sadly, as of this writing, APA Insurance had NOT yet provided me with a website address where one can actually access Mwezi kwa Mwezi to take a closer look and even try it out? Seems this is the caveat of a press release lacking the detail for an Insurance offering that could actually be a really big game changer for those pricey lump sum motor insurance premium payments!

Sad – there is no link. Some on to give KAVA.co.ke a run for its money. Choice is good for consumers – I must say.
Interesting reading. Just checked online and the domain name http://mwezikwamwezi.com/ was registered June 2014, but no website to date. I also bumped into these guys who seem to get heading towards the right direction with Online Motor Insurance: http://www.insureafrika.com/.
Can’t wait to find a complete end to end online solution for car owners.
While this is good progress, I am sad that the insurance industry is lagging so far behind when it comes to digital engagement with customers e.g. distribution insurance online or via mobile. Yet to see a fully online or mobile distribution solution for insurance.
For now you have to include the http://www...http://www.mwezikwamwezi.com/. It’s coming….
