The Kenya Movie Guide
I love going to the movies! At least once a week on the weekend, its just so much fun to catch the latest blockbusters on the big screen with great sound and warm popcorn to boot. So, how is it then that for the longest time the only place you can get up to date movie listings is in the daily newspapers? for me, for the longest time, and for lots of people, this has been a big frustration since you don’t always have the newspaper to know whats showing. That gave me an idea, a simple and useful one. I decided to build over this weekend a basic web page that would have a weekly listing of ALL the movies showing at ALL the Cinemas throughout Kenya. The result of this effort is The Kenya Movie Guide at http://www.movieguide.co.ke. I’ve tried to make the site as simple as possible so it should work on any standard PC /MAC web browser as well as your mobile phone web browser on a GPRS connection. Its not meant to be a complicated site so its just a basic listing and hyper links to each of the official movie web sites. The really useful thing about the Kenya Movie Guide is that for as long as you can get online, you will have the current and complete movie listing at your finger tips. I plan to improve it over time but for the time being its a start!

Finally someone is creating some local content for Kenyans….
A few thousand sites more of this type and Kenyans will actually have some reason to go to the internet for information.
This is absolutely briliant. It is a step toward easier access to information for kenyans, and a fun way to know what is actually playing in the theatres without having to walk to the newspaper stand.
I tried to visit the movie site you setup http://www.movieguide.co.ke and its down – I assume its hosted by google 😉
True to our word , Foxhole Entertainment is the leading indie movie production in the country. We did our first movie – “Y2K” which was well recieved and we are currently finishing our 2nd movie – “Nangos”. An action gangsta flick. WATCH OUT!!
I tried to visit your site but it seems to be down. This is a fantastic idea and i think the theatre companies should really look at this.
i tried opening the page but invain. its a great idea, please work on it. i needed to take someone for a movie this weekend but am not even sure what is showing where.
try cinemas.co.ke and silverbird.co.ke. They have up to date schedules. The movie guide has been off for sometime now.

@tante I pulled down the web site when getting content became a problem. Right now you can go to http://www.silverbird.co.ke and http://www.cinemas.co.ke for the latest listings.
Try flix.co.ke on your mobile/web or on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/flixkenya – its updated every week
